To register online Biodata “Aliimran Nordin is a research fellow at the Institute of Visual Informatics (IVI), UKM. He read Information Technology as an undergraduate at UiTM, Malaysia and after graduation he worked as an IT coordinator at Labuan IBFC Inc. Sdn. Bhd. He went to University of York, UK to study for a PhD in October 2011. He completed his PhD in July 2014. Ali’s current research interests focus generally on Human Computer Interaction and player experience in digital games, in particular, the immersive experience in gaming. Currently, his research focuses on modelling users’ time perception while engaging with entertainment technologies such as digital games, films, and music. Moreover, he is working to model empowerment through engagement in digital games for pediatric cancer patients in Malaysia.” Synopsis This talk focuses on the sharing experience between the audience (PhD candidates) and the speaker on how to complete their PhD on time. It will be done through interactive two-way communications and not the traditional one way lecture. Speaker will identify current and potential obstacles for PhD candidate through the discussion and to identify the most suitable strategy to overcome it. Moreover, the speaker will also share some tips that he used during his PhD journey that helped him to submit his thesis within 32 months.
