SPEAKER BIODATA

Prof. Dr. Azizah Jaafar currently is a Visiting Scholar in the Institute of Visual Informatics. She is a professor in HCI and a member of the National Council of Professor. She began her career in various institutions and she was the Head of Technical Information, Information Science Department in the Malaysia Institute of Nuclear Energy (MINT) in 1990. She became a lecturer in 1996 in Faculty of Information Science and Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and then as a Senior Research Fellow in the Institute of Visual Informatics in 2012. She has published more than 100 conference and journal papers, won many research and innovation grants, and supervised more than 40 PhD and Master students.

SEMINAR ABSTRACTS

The speaker will introduce the basics of eye-movement technology, and also present key aspects of practical guidance to those who might be interested in using eye tracking in HCI resesarch. Advantages, opportunities and the challenges for eye-movement studies in future HCI research especially in studying the complexities of advanced interactive system use will be discussed in detail.

Attention to the IVI students

All IVI Students are required to produce a short report regarding the seminar and they are required to email the report to their respective supervisors after the seminar. The content of the report must also include their potential future research activities that are related to Eye Tracking in Human-Computer Interaction and Usability Research Areas. Please bring your own laptop for this purpose during the seminar.
