Introduction

The STATISTICS for Multi-Disciplinary Experimental Research Workshop is organised with the aim to help researchers who want to increase their knowledge in the field of statistics and with special attention on the use of statistics in the field of human-computer interaction or psychology. This workshop is designed to ensure that researchers are aware of issues relating to basic statistics to help them carry out their research. The knowledge of basic statistics obtained from this workshop can help researchers to select the right statistical tests when analysing their data.

The uniqueness of this workshop is that it has many hands-on sessions. Participants will be introduced to the basic concepts of theories to form hypotheses and the design of experiments. Participants will run a small scale experiment, collect the data and transfer the data collected into an excel file. The excel file will then be used in the SPSS statistical tool.
