SPEAKER PROFILE Dr. Ah Lian Kor (Senior Lecturer)

A Course Leader of Leeds Met MSc Sustainable Computing, specialising in web applications and development, AI in Business, digital media communications, systems analysis, modelling, development and evaluation. She is active in intelligent systems and decision support systems research. She forges an industrial collaboration with Drax Power Station via a sponsored research project which aims to develop and evaluate a virtual environment (in the form of an expert system) to support decision making in fault diagnosis for the centrifuge system for Drax Power Station. She is involved in several European projects: ‘An Innovative Training Model for Social Enterprises Professional Qualifications’ (MOSE); Integrated System for Learning and Education Services (ISLES) which involves the use of ontology to organise information; development of European MSc and PhD programmes in Green Computing and Communications. She is an Editorial Board Member for several journals (e.g. IARIA: International Journal on Advances in Intelligent Systems; International Journal on Advances in Security, IBIMA Publishing); a member of IQN (international quality network for spatial cognition); sits on many international conference program/technical committees (e.g. ICAART 2015, IEEE Cloud Computing 2010, Cyberlaws Conference 2010 and 2011, etc.); an active paper reviewer for journals and conferences (e.g. Automated Software Engineering, Journal of Computer Sciences and Applications, Inderscience Journals, ICS, AMCIS, etc.); and has helped organise an international workshop (eGOV’05) for the EGISE network.
